I've read the Invicta Subaqua Noma IV watches come out in May, however they don't appear to be dramatically different from the Noma III series. I may be wrong, because Invicta hasn't released a lot of information. Very cool watch though.

At 30 foot long, the boats are sleek, rigorously controlled to ensure compliance with the class rules and it is often the technical decisions of the sailors on the water than can make or break their sailing performance.

The British cargo ship Numidia was built in Glasgow in early 1901. A relatively large vessel, she displaced 6,399 gross registered tons and was powered by a 3 cylinder triple expansion steam engine capable of providing a top speed of 10 Knots. On 6th July 1901, the Captain ordered the mooring lines slipped from her berth in Liverpool and stood beside the Pilot as the vessel moved slowly intothe River Mersey and then out into the Irish Sea. The Numidia was carrying a general cargo of 7,000 tons and a crew of 97. There were no passengers. The ship cleared Suez in the early hours of 19 July 1901. They made good time and by 7pm that evening, Shadwan Island was already abeam. The weather was fine with a fresh breeze from the NW. At 11pm the course was altered and at 1am on the 20th the light on Big Brothers island was sighted off the port bow. Observing the bearing, the Captain altered course again and informed the officer of the watch this would take the ship over one mile to the west of the Island. He then left the Bridge leaving instructions to be called when the Light was abeam. At about 2.10am the Master was awoken by the shock of his ship crashing onto rocks. Hurrying to the bridge, he found his ship hard aground on Big Brothers Island - almost directly below the Lighthouse! After two hours of trying to get off the rocks the engines were stopped. By this time the ship was taking on considerable water although the pumps were coping. At 7.30am dispatches were sent to Suez for urgent assistance and most of the crew were landed on theIsland. Other vessels then arrived and every effort was made to refloat the Numidia without success. Eventually realizing his vesselwas lost, the Master allowed his crew to be rescued - although he remained on the island for a further 7 weeks - during which he supervised the salvage of most of the cargo before the Numidia finally sank. This guy showed up recently, and has been flying around between lamp-posts. There's one right outside of my balcony and I knew it was only a matter of time before he came there sometime. One fine morning, I open the balcony door, and there he is. :) Grabbed my camera, and went shutter crazy. He seemed to be pretty patient too. Sad that it was raining though. Yesterday, I saw two of them. Now I wait for both of them to come by.

In fact, when I made it to Cradle Mountain it was only a few degrees and I couldn't even see the mountain. At about 4pm the clouds parted and there it was, an amazing sight! But boy, was it cold that afternoon it was choppy and windy, and the cold felt like it was blowing down from the mountain itself! What an experience. Moonrise was that night and I was thinking about it, but it was either moonrise, or sunrise, one or the other. I opted for the sunrise option the following day. Due to the rain prior, there was ice on the road. In Low gear, in an auto, at 15ks the tires were still sliding out on the road. Not to mention the -7 temp outside and the completely icy car! But hey, gloves, excellent jacket and my beanie and fantastic boots, I was rather warm. The water was like glass, I have shots of the stars reflecting perfectly off the water. I have to say Cradle Mountain is the best place I've ever photographed. Awe inspiring to say the least! I put together a little video of a stack of video I took on the trip. Please try not to focus on the bad dust bunnies, I did try to remove them with no luck and just decided to roll with it as is!! Cradle Mountain National Park Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is located in the Central Highlands area of Tasmania (Australia), 165 km northwest of Hobart. The park contains many walking trails, and is where hikes along the well-known Overland Track usually begins. Major features are Cradle Mountain and Barn Bluff in the northern end, Mount Pelion East, Mount Pelion West, Mount Oakleigh and Mount Ossa in the middle and Lake St Clair in the southern end of the park. The park is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

Question by nipriQ: how to find a good dive watch? I am looking to buy a dive watch for someone for christmas. I can't spend a whole lot so these $ 500-5000 watches are out of the question. Head to a dive supply store! Look in the phone book for scuba supplies. They aren't cheap though...it really depends on what depth you're talking about. The deeper he dives, the more expensive the watch will be.
